Abstract:
This paper proposed a modified ratio-cum-product estimator of finite population mean using information on coefficient of variation and coefficient of kurtosis of auxiliary variable in ranked set sampling. It has been shown that this method is highly beneficial to the estimation based on simple random sampling (SRS). The bias and mean squared error of the proposed estimators with large sample approximation are derived. Theoretically, it is shown that the suggested estimators are more efficient than the estimators in SRS. In addition, we support this theoretical result with the numerical illustration.
