Communications in Statistics - Theory and Methods, 2023, vol. 52, issue 11, 3879-3894

Abstract: Simple linear profile is referred to the processes that the quality of the process or products is related to a simple linear function between a response and an explanatory variables. So far, some process capability indices have been proposed for measuring the performance of simple linear profiles. In this paper, a new method is introduced to assess the capability of simple linear profiles. Simulation study carries out to investigate the performance of the proposed method and some existing ones. Results show that the new proposed index is close to the target value and has the smallest standard deviation.
