Algorithmic Issues in the Synthesis of Dissipative Systems

Mathematical and Computer Modelling of Dynamical Systems, 2002, vol. 8, issue 4, 407-428

Abstract: In this paper we discuss algorithmic issues that arise in the problem of synthesis of dissipative systems. We deal with linear differential systems that can be controlled only through a restricted set of variables called the control variables. The main feature of this paper is that we assume the system dynamics to be specified in the most general form: a latent variable representation. Starting from such a representation, we provide concrete algorithms that finally fetch a controller to implement the desired behavior. Many other peripheral algorithmic issues that crop up are also studied.
