Abstract: This study constructs the green finance index of commercial banks from qualitative and quantitative dimensions, and then empirically analyzes the impact of wealth management products (WMPs) on the green finance of banks. The result shows that the issuance of wealth management products improves banks’ green finance levels. Furthermore, we find that bank innovation and management capabilities positively moderate the relationship between the issuance of wealth management products and the level of green finance. These findings offer valuable insights for policymakers and financial institutions aiming to leverage financial product design to enhance sustainable banking practices.
