Bio-cryptography application for sending encrypted information using DNA cipher

Abstract: Cryptography-combined algorithms are obtained by a combination of algorithms, as their reliability is higher and harder to attack than the component algorithms separately. Thus, the combined algorithms are often known for classical cryptography. The goal of encryption is to make data unintelligible to unauthorized readers and extremely difficult to decipher when attacked. To raise security, substitution ciphers are combined with transposition and vice versa. We choose in our study the example of a combined cryptography algorithm composed of a deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA)-based cipher and a transposition cipher that functions with a secret key. Our objective, from this work, is to introduce a bio-inspired cryptography method and implement it through an application that allows secured communication through encrypted Short Message Service (SMS) and emails depending on different technologies. Therefore, this paper presents the implementation of a bio-inspired cryptography method combined with two successive algorithms; the first uses a DNA-based cipher and the second follows a transposition cipher, using a secret key for assuring a secured exchange of information.
