Journal of Baltic Studies, 2022, vol. 53, issue 2, 211-226

Abstract: The aim of this article is to provide a more complete overview of the mobilizations that were carried out in Estonia during World War I, to give a more up-to-date estimate of the numbers of men that were mobilized, and to examine the formation of Estonian national units in 1917 as one of the more important pre-conditions for the achievement of Estonian independence.
