Abstract:
In this issue of the Policy Review Section , Joe Doak of the Department of Land Management and Development, the University of Reading, Martin Stott of the Economic Development Unit, Oxfordshire County Council, and Riki Therivel of the Department of Town Planning, Oxford Brookes University, discuss the role of the SERPLAN Sustainability Panel in developing approaches towards sustainable regional development. In the second article Richard Walker of the Centre for Housing Management and Development, University of Wales Cardiff, examines the impact of recent major changes in the funding and regulatory framework of social housing in Holland. Finally, Mark Tewdwr-Jones of the Department of City and Regional Planning, University of Wales Cardiff, Nick Gallent of the Department of Planning and Landscape, University of Manchester, Malcolm Fisk of the School of Law, Social Work and Social Policy, Liverpool John Moores University, and Sue Essex of the Department of City and Regional Planning, University of Wales Cardiff, examine the way in which planning and housing departments in Welsh government are working together to improve the quality and supply of affordable social housing.
