Abstract:
In this issue of the Policy Review Section , Esmond Birnie and David Hitchens of the Department of Economics, Queen's University Belfast, examine some of the key economic issues and dilemmas which the recently established Northern Ireland Assembly will have to address. In the second article, Paul Foley of the School of Business, De Montfort University, reviews progress in establishing a Regional Development Agency and Chamber for the East Midlands following the publication of the Government's White Paper on new regional structures for the English regions. Finally, Dylan Henderson of the Department of City and Regional Planning, Cardiff University, examines the Welsh Development Agency's Welsh Medical Technology Forum which was highlighted as an example of a 'best practice' business network in the previous Government's Competitiveness White Paper.
