This paper contributes to the analysis of contemporary public sector restructuring in the UK through an evaluation of the impact of the introduction of compulsory competitive tendering (CCT) for the provision of local public services. Public services play an important stabilizing role in regional economic development but the introduction of CCT has undermined that role. Public service workers have suffered deteriorating levels of pay and conditions of service, and the capacity of local authorities to act to support local economic development has been reduced. Thus the introduction of CCT has undermined the contribution of local public services to the maintenance of interregional economic stability and to regional development. PINCH P. L. et PATTERSON A. Les niveaux des salaires et les conditions d'emploi de ceux qui assurent les services publics se sont deteriores, et la capacite des pouvoirs locaux a agir afin de soutenir le developpement economique local s'est affaiblie. Ainsi l'introduction de l'adjudication ouverte obligatoire a ebranle la participation des services publics locaux au maintien de la stabilite economique interregional et a l'amenagement du territoire. Dieser Aufsatz leistet einen Beitrag zur Analyse der gegenwartigen Umstrukturierung des offentlichen Sektors im UK mittels Bewertung der Auswirkung der Einfuhrung obligatorischer, konkurrenzfahiger Angebote (Compulsive Competitive Tendering = CCT) fur Versorgung durch die offentlichen Dienste am Orte. Offentliche Dienste spielen eine wichtige, stutzende Rolle bei der regionalwirtschaftlichen Entwicklung, doch die Einfuhrung der CCT hat diese Rolle untergraben. Angestellte der offentlichen Dienste haben sinkende Lohne und schlechtere Arbeitsbedingungen hinnehmen mussen, und die Fahigkeit der Ortsverwaltung sich in Sachen der Unterstutzung ortlicher Wirtschaftsentwicklung zu betatigen, ist beeintrachtigt worden. So hat die Einfuhrung des CCT den Beitrag der ortlichen offentlichen Dienste zur Aufrechterhaltung uberregionaler Stabilitat der Wirtschaft und regionalen Entwicklung untergraben.
