Borders of Concrete, Walls of Code: Redefining Fortifications in a Globalized World
Élisabeth Vallet
Journal of Borderlands Studies, 2025, vol. 40, issue 4, 813-816
Abstract:
This special issue of the Journal of Borderlands Studies explores the evolving role of border walls—both literal and metaphorical—in shaping human interaction, controlling mobility, and projecting power in an era of (de)globalization and pervasive insecurity. Through nine insightful articles, the issue examines the construction, digitization, and symbolic resonance of these borders from a variety of perspectives.
