Data Resources for Real Estate and Business Geography Analysis

Grant I. Thrall

Journal of Real Estate Literature, 2001, vol. 9, issue 2, 175-225

Abstract: Empirical-based real estate and business geography research and practitioner applications require data that is timely, geographically relevant and with fields that conform to the requirements of the analysis. The Internet offers a host of data sources. However, there is a gap between what is presently available via the Internet, and the analyst’s awareness of the provision of this information. This article contributes to filling that gap by providing an annotated bibliography of data sources. Each annotation includes an Internet URL where further information on the data, and even the data itself, may be accessed. The data and the vendors are in an organizational framework consistent with many real estate and business geography research and practitioner applications.
