Abstract:
Before launching a new real estate program, the University of Baltimore's Merrick School of Business asked a panel of professionals in the real estate business to assist in developing a curriculum for a B.S. in Real Estate & Economic Development program. They were asked what body of knowledge was important for their own future real estate employees. According to these professionals, classes in Principles and Real Estate Finance were the most important ones for undergraduates. The most important skills for employees were the ability to work in teams, oral communication, and interpersonal skills. These results confirm previous inquiries into what the broader real estate industry participants' value in real estate academic curricula.
