Graduate Real Estate Education: A Survey of Programs after the Great Recession

Abstract: This paper highlights results from a 2014 survey of graduate real estate programs in the United States to determine whether the Great Recession impacted graduate real estate programs. While there is an abundance of real estate literature on the impacts of the Great Recession on the real estate sector, minimal work has been published on its impact on graduate real estate programs. We summarize the responses of the professionals directing these various graduate real estate programs. We highlight the courses and skills currently considered to be the most important in real estate curricula in the aftermath of the Great Recession.
