Abstract:
In this paper, I examine the importance of environmental factors in the residential property market. The paper presents results from a quasi-experimental study and survey responses from 733 occupants of green and conventional buildings. The findings show that energy and environmental building performance factors have rather a minor impact on the purchasing or renting decision. The findings indicate that when discussing the impact of energy and environmental factors on a customer purchase decision, the availability of information should be considered.
