High-frequency scattering by perfectly conducting prolate spheroids

Journal of Electromagnetic Waves and Applications, 2014, vol. 28, issue 11, 1388-1396

Abstract: The high-frequency asymptotics of the far-field amplitude for the electromagnetic scattering by a perfectly conducting strongly elongated spheroid is constructed in the case of near axial incidence. The leading order term of the asymptotics provides an accurate approximation for the radar cross-section, which can be concluded from the comparison with test results.
