Abstract:
A single-layer frequency selective surface (FSS) with wide stop band is proposed and applied in reducing the radar cross section (RCS) of the spiral antenna in this article. The element of the FSS consists of toothed spindle-shaped cross and rings. With the spindle-shaped cross and the toothed edges, the operating band of the FSS is enhanced and extended to the high frequency range. The metal rings are laid between the arms to decrease the coupling. The results show that the stop band of the FSS is 3.4–5.8 GHz under the condition of |S21|
