Abstract:
In this study, a printed quasi-Yagi antenna with a coupled slotline feed is proposed and designed. In this design, a driven dipole is excited by a slotline mode with 1 × 2 CPW-slotline divider output instead of the coplanar strip mode used in conventional quasi-Yagi antennas. A prototype antenna with dimensions of 17 mm × 34.5 mm was fabricated to demonstrate the performance of the proposed feeding scheme. Measurements show that the proposed antenna has a wide −10 dB reflection bandwidth of 41.5% (7.32–11.15 GHz) and a gain ranging from 2.0 to 8.6 dBi. The measured radiation patterns of the antenna are also presented.
