Journal of Electromagnetic Waves and Applications, 2016, vol. 30, issue 18, 2484-2491

Abstract: A new multilayered optical filter is designed using high- and low-index materials and ultrathin metallic film providing band-blocking characteristic. Power absorption, reflection and transmission characteristics of the structure depending on the high/low index values of the layers and stack numbers of layers are investigated. Overall results indicate that band-blocking filter in visible region is realized with quasi-periodically settled layers in the form of Fibonacci Series and proper adjustment of the structural parameters. Designed structure is useful for the absorbtion of special wavelengths in the visible region in 670–730 nm band by eliminating reflection and transmission.
