Abstract:
This paper presents a novel compact power divider (PD) with bandpass response and improved out-of-band rejection performance, which features flexible bandwidth adjustment and high passband selectivity. The proposed filtering PD consists of two coupled-line sections, two short-circuited transmission line sections (TLSs), and two cascaded stepped impedance TLSs in symmetrical arrangement. The unique loading point of isolation resistor is proposed to provide enhanced isolation performance, different from that of the conventional Wilkinson PD where the isolation resistor loaded between the output ports. Theoretical investigation adopting even–odd-mode method is presented to explain the operating mechanism. For verification, a filtering PD centered at 2.4 GHz is designed and measured. The measured results agree well with the simulated ones.
