Abstract:
In this paper, a novel shaped metamaterial is proposed with Double Negative (DNG) properties. Dual band characteristics are achieved with a very small frequency ratio of 1.09848:1. For the proposed metamaterial, an analysis of different configurations is presented and all the parameters of unit cell metamaterial such as impedance Z, permittivity Ep, permeability Mu and refractive index n are extracted. Furthermore, the mathematical calculations for the extraction of parameters are presented. The analysis of the metamaterial is done with the help of Finite Element Method based tool Ansys HFSS and results have been validated by CST Microwave Studio and measured experimental results.
