Journal of Electromagnetic Waves and Applications, 2018, vol. 32, issue 18, 2470-2480

Abstract: In the paper, we investigate thin metal transverse resonant diaphragms with a complex aperture in rectangular waveguides and develop some new aperture profiles with advanced properties. The presented resonant diaphragms are produced by the metallization of the thin dielectric substrate and allow to construct band-pass and band-stop filters with high Q-factor and transmission zeros. An original approach to develop the ultra-compact and robust waveguide filters is described. As an example, we demonstrate the band-pass filter on WR-90 rectangular waveguides with the length of 8 mm and the pass-band of 10%.
