Journal of Electromagnetic Waves and Applications, 2019, vol. 33, issue 2, 215-225

Abstract: An Ultra-wideband (UWB) bandpass filter with three notch bands based on multi-tone waveform and Stimulated Brillouin scattering (SBS) is proposed and demonstrated. The phase modulation (PM) and tunable optical bandpass filter (TOBF) of the system are used to implement a single bandpass filter. The SBS attenuation of the multi-pump generates three notch bands and the proposed filter can efficiently reduce the interference from undesired signals at 3.5 GHz in WiMAX, 5.7 GHz in WLAN and 8 GHz in satellite. The rejection ratio of notch bands can be optimized to 36 dB, 38 dB and 35 dB.
