Abstract: This paper presents the electrical design of a high power ring-bar TWT amplifier at Ku-band. The design parameters of Slow-wave structure (SWS) were synthesized theoretically. Further, the design was optimized using a computer simulation technology (CST). The dispersion and interaction impedance characteristics were simulated using the eigenmode simulation (EMS) technique at a beam voltage of 14.5 kV. The sever and attenuators were incorporated in the designed two-section TWT for obtaining the device gain of more than 30 dB. The particle-in-cell (PIC) simulation was predicted the power of 61.5 dBm (1412 watts), the gain of 34.5 dB, and electronic efficiency of 17.5% at operating center frequency of 15.15 GHz for beam voltage of 14.5 kV and current of 0.55 A. The gain fluctuation value was obtained less than 1 dB for any 80 MHz bandwidth for the interest of frequency band of 14.9 to 15.4 GHz.
