Abstract:
A high transmission tunable metamaterial structure is proposed and manufactured experimentally in the THz range. A transmission peak is achieved at resonance frequency 5.97THz based on the bright-bright modes coupling effect. The transmission peak can be controlled by changing the periodicity P of the unit cell or the diameter D increasing. Moreover, the transmission peak can also be controlled by changing the temperature. The effect of three gases (carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, and nitric oxide) on the transmission peak is also measured. The effect of liquids is also measured in experiments.
