Abstract:
In this paper, first the basic principles of monostatic RCS enhancement (RCS ENH) for a structure are established. Then it is shown that for a periodic structure with periodicity larger than half wavelength, according to Fluquet’s theory, the larger the periodicity, the greater the number of incidence angles for which energy is reflected in the same direction, that is, monostatic RCS ENH. Then for a symmetrical patch unit cell, the optimum dimensions are obtained. Finally several symmetrical patch unit cells with different periodicities are arranged symmetrically with respect to the center of structure to achieve monostatic RCS ENH in a wide angle.
