Journal of Electromagnetic Waves and Applications, 2022, vol. 36, issue 17, 2463-2472

Abstract: A novel concentric ring-based meta-surface assisted dielectric window is considered in the present study for examining its broadband response. The tolerable return loss in the Ka-Q band is taken as 20 dB for calculation of the bandwidth. The proposed window supports a bandwidth of 20.30 GHz (54.06%) for the TE0,1 mode. While comparing with a plane disk window, the bandwidth is increased by 17.55 GHz and 46.55%. On the other hand, compared with previously designed meta-surface assisted dielectric windows with square cross-sectional pillars without and with cylindrical tips, the bandwidth is increased by 1.1 GHz and 190 MHz, respectively.
