Meta-surface-assisted ultra-wideband dielectric window

Journal of Electromagnetic Waves and Applications, 2022, vol. 36, issue 2, 237-245

Abstract: A novel meta-surface-assisted dielectric window with periodically arranged square cross-sectional pillars with a cylindrical tip is presented to demonstrate a wider bandwidth than that without a cylindrical tip. The window bandwidth of 20.11 GHz (54.07%) at allowable return loss of 20 dB is obtained for the operating TE0,1 mode in the Ka-Q band. The bandwidth of the proposed window is improved with 17.1 GHz and 45.92% in comparison with that of the plane disk window. The window bandwidth is wider by 910 MHz and 1.18% than that for square cross-sectional pillars without a cylindrical tip.
