Abstract:
This article introduces an innovative four-port MIMO antenna designed for modern wireless system, operating across three distinct frequency bands. The antenna incorporates a combination of a rectangular radiator, L-shaped element, and U-shaped slot to achieve its tri-band functionality. The frequency of the presented antenna is 3.3-3.55 GHz, 4.4-4.9 GHz and 5.1-7.3 GHz, which can support 5G standards n78 (3.4-3.5 GHz), n79 (4.8-4.9 GHz), WIFI 5G and WIFI 6E released by FCC (5.15-5.85 GHz, 5.925-7.125GHz) band. The MIMO antenna achieves isolation exceeding 20 dB across all operating bands through the utilization of crossed and L-shaped branches. Moreover, a comprehensive evaluation of the designed MIMO antenna includes an in-depth analysis of its key attributes, which encompass gain, ECC, diversity gain (DG), radiation pattern, and total active reflection coefficient (TARC). All findings indicate the proposed tri-band four-port MIMO antenna is suitable for applications in Sub-6 GHz 5G and WIFI.
