Journal of the Operational Research Society, 2019, vol. 70, issue 1, 81-100

Abstract: In real multi-attribute decision-making problems, attributes are usually correlated and performances of alternatives are affected by random environmental factors. This paper proposes an intuitionistic fuzzy factorial analysis model for multi-attribute decision-making, where correlative phenomenon among attributes and random decision-making environment is considered. First, the measure of correlation coefficient for random intuitionistic fuzzy variables is introduced. Based on this measure, an intuitionistic fuzzy factorial analysis model is proposed under random environment. Then, the procedure and algorithm of random multi-attribute decision-making based on intuitionistic fuzzy factorial analysis model is given. Finally, two examples are discussed, and detailed comparisons are given to demonstrate the feasibility and validity of the proposed technique.
