Ending Moral Hazard
William Poole
Financial Analysts Journal, 2010, vol. 66, issue 3, 17-24
Abstract:
FAJ editor Rodney Sullivan, CFA, recently sat down with former Federal Reserve Bank president William Poole for an interview about the fallout from the global market crisis and how to end the moral hazard arising from government bailouts. In William Poole’s recent Financial Analysts Journal article “Moral Hazard: The Long-Lasting Legacy of Bailouts” (November/December 2009), the former Federal Reserve Bank president discussed the critical need to end government bailouts. With that context in mind, FAJ editor Rodney Sullivan interviewed Poole in January 2010 about the fallout from the current global market crisis and what to do about the moral hazard arising from government bailouts.Editor’s Note: For a podcast of this interview, go to http://www.cfainstitute.org/learning/products/multimedia/Pages/25609.aspx.
