Methodological and Topic Trends in JGITM: A 10-Year Retrospect

Prashant Palvia and Mohammad Daneshvar Kakhki

Journal of Global Information Technology Management, 2016, vol. 19, issue 3, 149-153

Abstract: The Journal of Global Information Technology Management (JGITM) is an established journal, in its nineteenth year, and is a premier outlet for publishing research on global issues of information technology. In this report, the authors conduct an examination of the types of research published in JGITM over a ten-year period from 2006 to 2015. They also compare their findings with research published in two major journals: MIS Quarterly (MISQ) and European Journal of Information Systems (EJIS). The findings provide evidence that the journal is fully accomplishing its mission. It continues to achieve its “global/international” mission in IS research. Furthermore, it has published research on almost all IS topics and has employed various methodologies in the conduct of research.
