Abstract:
The paper essentially explores the need and prospects of international collaboration and support for the development of gifted education in developing countries, using the state of gifted education in Nigeria to illustrate the essence of such a venture. The rationale for international collaboration and support as a challenge for the international gifted education movement in the 2,000 millennium years are justified. Given the dilemma of gifted education in Nigeria as is typical of most developing countries, this paper advocates for intervention in the context of evolving a resource development and research centre as well as a reach-out correspondence training program as the major thrusts of the proposed collaboration and support.
