Abstract:
TThis paper aims to be a comprehensive overview of how quality is considered an important indicator in measuring educational systems in European countries. The primary research question in our study is the following: “Is the educational system in Romania a qualitative one compared to those belonging to other EU states?†and tries to analyze, in a comparative manner, how a number of significant factors negatively influence the quality of education in Romania. Also, the findings are important for improving the development of the educational system in Romania, aiming to carry out a SWOT analysis, and highlighting the advantages and disadvantages of the system. The research has revealed, as in a statement, that understanding the weaknesses of the Romanian educational system will contribute to the development of ways in which this system can be improved with the responsible involvement of those who decide, respectively of the political factors. Finally, the results of the study indicated a number of strong points of the educational system in Romania which are of major importance in order that our educational system become a competitive and qualitative one, compared to those belonging to other European states.
