Management style of the man and the woman manager in the military organization

Abstract: The presence of women in leadership positions is an issue that has aroused considerable interest in recent years. Many articles discuss popular ideas about emergent leadership styles that fit best in new types of hierarchical organization less bureaucratic and frequent comparisons between women and men present qualities leadership style. Alison Alexander (2013 ) believes that leadership style is a way of exercising the functions of manager, characterized by a set of attitudes and working methods adopted, especially by specific features of relationships with subordinates , and external environment. I chose to study, management style of the woman and man manager manager military organizations " because we wanted to investigate whether there are gender stereotypes in the XXI century . Sintion F. (2000 ) believes that the military is an organization designed to ensure strict centralized control unit ( management) and action. Tool to achieve this unit, the decision belongs to the leader invested with full authority, indisputable achievement of incitement to military action without preparing them to exclude that decision colletively with team staff . Carmen Tudor (2013 ) observes that it is strongly hierarchical military organization, that has a high number of hierarchical levels and the rules and regulations prescribing the exact duties of each hierarchical levels, and the relations of subordination, authority, cooperation and control.Also a major point of this paper is to determine whether there are differences in men and women personalities who have leadership positions, particularly issues related to self-esteem or empathy. Conclusions of this paper also showed that although women adopt an authoritarian leadership style retains some female characteristics, such as empathy, cooperation. Also because military environment is one which requires very strict rules so that leadership positions should have a high self-esteem, especially if we speak of women managers.
