Abstract:
In the present study, we aim to achieve a general picture of the status and roles of the student with disabilities integrated in mainstream school. This overview shows two major directions of importance of this research, namely the importance for society in general, but also the importance, at a particular level, for the process of normalization of people with special needs and the special education system. I chose this topic because, after a period of study and observation, I discovered how the reality we live in and the new contemporary challenges imposed changes in the design and implementation of educational strategies and had a strong effect on children with special needs. Therefore, we want to report their current and real situation, to see the progress, regression or change of system values. School integration is the process of including children with special educational needs in mainstream or regular classes in formal and non-formal activities. We consider this process desirable and mandatory.
