Abstract: I chose this topic because obsessive-compulsive disorder, which has become widespread in recent years, is currently considered one of the most common psychiatric disorders and early identification of symptoms is necessary. The present paper presents the synthesis of some investigations presented in the specialized literature, on the issue of obsessive-compulsive disorder, as well as the process of adaptation and validation on the Romanian population of a scale for measuring obsessive-compulsive symptoms. The main purpose of this paper is to adapt and validate this inventory. The Revised Obsessive-Compulsive Inventory (IOC-R) is a tool for measuring the symptoms of obsessive-compulsive disorder (Foa et al., 2002). It was developed to develop a shorter version of the Obsessive-Compulsive Inventory (Foa et al, 1998), and this revised version assesses obsessions and a variety of compulsions, examines its psychometric features, and monitors the tool's usefulness as a diagnostic tool.
