Abstract: This article examines the implementation of the green port concept in the Port of Klaipėda, focusing on key environmental challenges and the measures applied to mitigate them. The study is based on a scientific literature review and a qualitative case study approach using document content analysis. The findings indicate that the main environmental impacts are related to air and water pollution, noise, and waste management. The Port of Klaipėda implements comprehensive measures, including the development of hydrogen technologies, shore-side electricity supply for ships, advanced waste management solutions, and noise control systems. The results show that emission reduction efforts are primarily driven by energy-related technological solutions, while other environmental areas remain more control-oriented. Overall, the study highlights uneven progress across different components of the green port concept and emphasizes the need for a more integrated approach to environmental management.
