Abstract:
The hospitality industry is increasingly required to balance economic growth with environmental and social responsibility. This study investigates the effects of Green Intellectual Capital (GIC) and Green Transformational Leadership (GTL) on Sustainable Performance (SP), with Green Capability (GC) serving as a mediating variable and Top Management Support (TMS) acting as a moderating variable. Data were collected from 124 managers and supervisors of three-star, four-star, and five-star hotels operating in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, Indonesia. A quantitative research design was employed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM). The results reveal that Green Transformational Leadership significantly influences Sustainable Performance and Green Capability. Green Intellectual Capital significantly affects Green Capability but does not directly influence Sustainable Performance. Furthermore, Green Capability significantly improves Sustainable Performance and mediates the relationships between Green Transformational Leadership and Sustainable Performance as well as between Green Intellectual Capital and Sustainable Performance. However, Top Management Support does not significantly moderate the relationship between Green Capability and Sustainable Performance. The study highlights the importance of organizational green capabilities as a strategic mechanism for transforming environmental knowledge and leadership into sustainable organizational outcomes within the hospitality sector.
