Abstract:
Laser ablation technique (LAT) was successfully employed to synthesize nanocomposite core-shell copper nanoparticles that completely coated by titanium oxide nanoparticles Cu@TiO2. The structural, optical and morphological examination results indicated that increasing the ablation time of copper target under fixed laser energy effect on their characterizations. transmitted electron microscopy (TEM) images confirmed the formation of a core-shell Cu@TiO2 that consist of a spherical copper nanoparticle of 25-42nm diameters surrounded by TiO2 NPs shell. Increasing the ablation time from 15 to 30 minutes effect on the size of core nanoparticles to be reduced to 18-25nm diameters . This also strongly effect on their structural and optical properties, The X-ray diffraction (XRD) pattern exhibited wider and shorter peaks with red shifted of the UV-Vis spectrum for the colloids that prepared at longer ablation time , and the energy gap were reduced from 2.78 e.v to 1.92 e.v.. Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectra approved the doping phase formation of Cu@TiO2 nanocomposite.
