Abstract: The article analyzes the possibilities of formation and effective functioning of free economic zones of recreational-tourist and military-recreational type. The assessment of the recreational and tourist sphere in the resort andrecreational areas of the Tashkent region was carried out. The recreational-tourist and military-recreational potential ofthe Tashkent region is considered, the problematic aspects of their development are identified. The factors hindering thedevelopment of recreational and tourist activities are analyzed.
