“Sustainable tourism”, “green tourism” and “eco-tourism”: differences and key principles

Abstract:
Tourism, a significant global economic activity, increasingly embraces sustainability to mitigate its environmental,social, and economic impacts. This paper explores the nuanced distinctions and underlying principles of threekey concepts in responsible tourism: sustainable tourism, green tourism, and eco-tourism. Moreover, the paper providessome recommendations and list of tasks that should be implemented in order to advance the development of sustainabletourism, green tourism, and eco-tourism.
