Definition of agritourism as a multifunctional development in rural areas

Abstract:
This paper evaluates the potential role of agritourism activities, their contribution to the sustainable ruraldevelopment in Uzbekistan, considering the multifunctional development of rural areas. The paper also analyses the longdating Polish experience on the farm rural tourism activities and the rural development policy providing incentives to thediversification of farming activities. The lessons learnt from the Poland case analysis provide some suggestion for therural development policy design in Uzbekistan.
