GREEN ECONOMY AND DEVELOPMENT, 2025, vol. 3, issue 8

Abstract: This article examines smart grids as a new stage in the development of energy supply systems. At the coreof this approach lies the integration of advanced digital and information-communication technologies aimed at ensuringhigh efficiency, reliability, and sustainability. Within the architecture of smart grids, automated control, the Internet ofThings (IoT), and demand management systems operate in synergy, expanding the functional capabilities of energyinfrastructure and enhancing its resilience. The transformation from traditional energy systems to smart grids is viewed asan important strategic tool for increasing the use of renewable energy sources, reducing carbon emissions, and mitigatingthe effects of climate change
