GREEN ECONOMY AND DEVELOPMENT, 2025, vol. 3, issue 9
Abstract:
This article explores innovative pathways to sustainable tourism development in Uzbekistan. Tourism is one ofthe country’s fastest-growing sectors, but it faces challenges such as pressure on heritage sites, dependence on shortstayregional visitors, and limited use of green transport. The study highlights the need for approaches that balanceeconomic, social, and environmental goals. Two key pathways are proposed: integrated destination planning with digitaltools, and sustainability-oriented infrastructure supported by regional cooperation. These strategies can guide Uzbekistantoward a tourism model that protects culture, supports communities, and ensures long-term, balanced growth
