THE VOLUME OF AGRICULTURAL PRODUCTION IN THE REGION AND THE ROLE OF REGIONAL SPECIALIZATION IN ENSURING FOOD SECURITY

Nurali Xolmatovich Bekmurodov

GREEN ECONOMY AND DEVELOPMENT, 2026, vol. 4, issue 6

Abstract: This article analyzes the volume, structure, and role of agricultural production in ensuring foodsecurity through regional specialization. Using the FAO methodology and 2023 statistical data, the studyidentifies key indicators of food security and highlights the importance of balanced food consumption andsufficient food reserves. The results reveal distinct patterns of regional specialization: the Fergana Valleyspecializes in vegetable and fruit production, while the southern regions demonstrate strong potential inlivestock and forage production. Correlation (r = 0.78) and regression (R² = 0.61) analyses confirm a strongpositive relationship between infrastructure development and food security. The findings indicate that furtherimprovement of storage facilities, logistics systems, and agricultural infrastructure can significantly strengthenregional food security and support sustainable agricultural development
