Abstract:
By using the new classification of tourism attraction proposed by Caccomo and Solonandrasana (2001, 2002), the purpose of this paper is to determine the tourists which are likely to extend the length of their stays in the Languedoc-Roussillon area. Along this line, the link between tourism attraction and length of stays is established. We consider the period 1993- 2003 with five tourists countries of origin and two accommodation bases. Tourist length of stay is, on the one hand, analyzed through the evolution of bed-nights and arrival numbers. On the other hand, we propose to estimate the relation with an error correction model. Finally, the results are connected to the notion of attraction.
