Jan-Eric Nilsson, Roger Pyddoke, Staffan Hultén and Gunnar Alexandersson

Journal of Transport Economics and Policy, 2013, vol. 47, issue 2, 307-312

Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to describe Sweden's recent reforms to open the railway passenger markets to entry, and to address how the reforms have handled four critical issues for the success of the reforms: the allocation of infrastructure capacity; the provision of maintenance and terminal facilities; the access to rolling stock; and the provision of information and ticketing to travellers. © 2013 LSE and the University of Bath
