Luís M. A. Bettencourt: Luís M. A. Bettencourt is a Professor of Complex Systems at the Santa Fe Institute. He has worked extensively on cities and urbanization using new mathematical methods and data to build integrated quantitative models of urban processes. His research has been featured in leading venues in the scientific literature and the media, and has become a basis for new approaches to urban policy and practice.
Javier Gonzales: Javier M. Gonzales is the Mayor of the City of Santa Fe, where he was born and raised. He has served as a Santa Fe County Commissioner and State Democratic Party Chairman, and is a past president of the National Association of Counties. Javier has worked over the decades in small business, business management consulting, and corporate responsibility and sustainability.
