Dener Giovanni: Dener Giovanni is founder of the National Network for Combating Wild Animal Trafficking (RENCTAS). Prior to founding RENCTAS, Giovanni was Environmental Secretary of Três Rios, a city in the Brazilian state of Rio de Janeiro. In 1999 he was elected an Ashoka Fellow. In 2003 he was named a co-winner of the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP) Sasakawa Environment Prize, among the world's most prestigious environmental awards.
