Abstract: The main purposes of the paper are to describe port performance evaluation by queuing models (QMs) based on the nature and applications of the models, state of the art survey based on the classification and identify considered problems and the applications of the existing QMs. There are number of benefits to be gained from QMs for port performance evaluation, among them are: faster development, greater flexibility, less data required and it is easier to understand and interpret the results.
